As we continue to grow, we’re looking for an experienced higher education leader to join us as Head of Student Outcomes.

This is a senior role with real scope to make an impact. You’ll lead our institutional approach to student outcomes, bringing together data, insight, academic practice and student experience to improve continuation, completion, attainment and graduate outcomes, while reducing disparities between different groups of students.

The role

You’ll lead the Student Outcomes team and work closely with colleagues across academic areas, Quality, Registry and professional services.

You’ll take strategic ownership of our approach to student outcomes and help us understand not only what our data is telling us, but what we need to do differently as a result.

You’ll lead work around continuation, completion, attainment, progression and graduate outcomes, alongside our approach to reducing outcome gaps and delivering the commitments within our Access and Participation Plan. You’ll also coordinate our institution-wide response to the National Student Survey, making sure student feedback leads to clear action and measurable improvement.

You’ll work across UA92, influencing senior academic and professional colleagues and providing insight and recommendations to our Executive Team, Board and Lancaster University.

You’ll also play an important part in UA92’s continued growth, making sure student success, experience and retention remain at the heart of how we develop as an institution.

What you’ll bring

We’re looking for someone who already understands the complexity of student outcomes in UK higher education.

You’ll bring substantial senior-level HE experience, ideally across student outcomes, student success, student experience or a related institution-wide area. You’ll have a strong understanding of the OfS regulatory framework and Condition B3, alongside experience of using data, benchmarking and performance insight to improve outcomes.

You’ll also understand the wider landscape, including NSS, Access and Participation, TEF and Graduate Outcomes, and be able to translate regulatory requirements and sector expectations into something practical that colleagues across an institution can act on.

You’ll be comfortable working with senior academic and professional services colleagues, challenging where needed and building shared ownership for improvement. You’ll have experience of leading teams and complex cross-institutional work, and you’ll be able to show where your work has led to measurable improvements for students.

We’re particularly interested in people who can combine strategic thinking with delivery. Someone who can see the bigger picture, get underneath the data and then work with colleagues to make change happen.
