Student Experience Graduate
Student Experience Graduate
Co-founded by the Class of 92 and Lancaster University, UA92 started with a clear belief: higher education should be accessible to all. That means challenging inequalities, widening participation and creating opportunities for people who may not always have seen Higher Education as a path for them.
But getting students through the door is only part of our purpose. We want every student who joins UA92 to feel that they belong here, have a voice and get the opportunity to make the most of university life.
We’re now looking for a Student Experience Graduate Intern to join our Student Success team. And there is something particularly important about this opportunity: we’re looking for a UA92 graduate.
You already know what it feels like to be a student here. You know our community, our deliberately different approach and the things that can make a real difference to the student experience. This role gives you the opportunity to bring that experience back into UA92, develop your career and help shape the experience of the students coming after you.
The role
This is a hands-on role at the heart of student life at UA92. You’ll help create the activities, events and opportunities that bring students together and help make university feel like more than somewhere they come to study.
Working with the Student Success team, you’ll support activity across the whole student journey from pre-arrival and induction through to graduation and alumni engagement. You’ll help deliver Welcome Week, social events, student societies, engagement campaigns and community-building activities that encourage students to get involved and feel part of UA92.
You’ll also work closely with our student representatives and student groups, helping students have a genuine voice in what happens here. That includes supporting feedback and surveys, representation activity and creating opportunities for students to influence and shape their university experience.
You’ll be visible around campus and build relationships with students, academic colleagues and professional services teams. You’ll keep an eye on participation and engagement, help us understand what might be stopping students from getting involved and bring your own ideas about what we could do differently.
We want someone who will get stuck in, whether that means helping organise an event, talking to students on campus, supporting a society, gathering feedback or coming up with the next idea that gets students involved.
What you’ll bring
First and foremost, you’ll be a UA92 and you’ll be able to draw on your own experience of studying here.
We’re not expecting you to arrive with years of professional experience. This is a graduate opportunity designed to give you the chance to build it.
What matters is what you have already done and what you can bring. That experience might have come from being a student ambassador or representative, volunteering, getting involved with organising events or projects, working in a customer-facing role, or simply being someone who got involved and helped make things happen.
You’ll bring:
Strong communication and people skills and the confidence to engage with a diverse student community.
Experience of building positive relationships with others.
Some experience of organising or supporting events, activities, campaigns or projects.
Good organisation and the ability to juggle different priorities and meet deadlines.
Confidence taking ownership and getting things done.
Good digital skills, including Microsoft Office and digital communication tools.
An understanding of why belonging, representation and student engagement matter.
Ideas, energy and a willingness to try things and learn along the way.
Above all, you’ll care about the student experience and want to use your own time at UA92 to make the experience even better for the students who follow you.
